We use Voyage Control manage vehicle access and deliveries for all events at the NEC. This helps to maximise the available unloading spaces for all exhibitors and contractors.
It is necessary to make advance bookings for:
- All event deliveries on all build up days including “Deposit System” days. (“Deposit System” days are normally the last build up day for busier events)
- All event restocking deliveries on event open days
The system is designed to encourage people to unload and then move their vehicles to free car parks, so that space adjacent to the halls is available for others to unload. This keeps the need to hold vehicles on the lorry parks to a minimum.
Users are required to provide their credit card details on the booking account. Please note that in line with booking terms and conditions, overstay charges (which are outlined on the necbirmingham.voyagecontrol.com home page) apply on all build / restocking days, if a vehicle has exceeded its unloading time and removal has been requested but not actioned. Overstay charges are applied automatically for all deliveries exceeding their unloading time on “Deposit System” days.
Unloading time is allocated dependent on the size of the vehicle as follows:
- Car or small van = 1 hour
- Transit Van / Lorry = 2 hours
- Artic = 3 hours
Vehicles need to unload and leave the inner area within the allocated time. Please note ANPR cameras are in use.
Please contact traffic@thenec.co.uk and/or 0121 767 2389 with any questions that you may have regarding overstay charges.
